Where to Find Accurate COVID-19 Information

When faced with so much uncertainty, rumors fly. The COVID-19 pandemic has fueled a lot of misinformation, spread quickly through social media channels. The rumors can run from ridiculous to downright dangerous. Someone, for example, following suggestions to gargle with very hot water could seriously burn themselves. The biggest risk with many of the unproven recommendations is that they distract us from the important, scientifically proven actions we should be taking, like good hand washing and social distancing.  Below are some resources you can use for up to date, accurate and scientifically proven information.

World Health Organization

Have you heard something about preventing or treating COVID-19 that sounds too good to be true? Check out this myth- busting information from the World Health Organization with graphic posters of common myths around coronavirus. You can download and share each of the individual infographics.

Massachusetts General Hospital or Your Local Hospital Website

Centers for Disease Control & Prevention

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention or CDC, provides daily updates on new COVID-19 developments, the most current number of diagnosed cases in each state and many resources for the public and health care workers.

Food & Drug Administration

The FDA provides food safety information for consumers and also issues alerts regarding fraudulent products claiming to diagnose and/or cure COVID-19.
